We all know how important (and hard sometimes) it is to stay focused on the task we are performing while ignoring all the distractions around. This ability of staying on task comes from a set of brain functions called cognitive control. Using the data from the Iowa Neurological Patient Registry, we aim to (1) identify the neural foundations of cognitive control and (2) to accurately predict how cognitive control is impacted after brain lesion.
